Ten Reasons to Impeach George Bush and Dick Cheney

  • Violating the United Nations Charter by launching an illegal "War of Aggression" against Iraq without cause, using fraud to sell the war to Congress and the public, misusing government funds to begin bombing without Congressional authorization, and subjecting our military personnel to unnecessary harm, debilitating injuries and deaths.
  • Violating U.S. and international law by authorizing the torture of thousands of captives, resulting in dozens of deaths, and keeping prisoners hidden from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
  • Violating the Constitution by arbitrarily detaining Americans, legal residents, and non-Americans, without due process, without charge, and without access to counsel.
  • Violating the Geneva Conventions by targeting civilians, journalists, hospitals, and ambulances, and using illegal weapons, including white phosphorous, depleted uranium, and a new type of napalm.
  • Violating U.S, law and the Constitution through widespread wiretapping of the phone calls and emails of Americans without a warrant.
  • Violating the Constitution by using "signing statements" to defy hundreds of laws passed by Congress.
  • Violating U.S. and state law by obstructing honest elections in 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.
  • Violating U.S. law by using paid propoganda and disinformation, selectively and misleadingly leaking classified information, and exposing the identity of a covert CIA operative working on sensitive WMD proliferation for political retribution.
  • Subverting the Constitution and abusing Presidential power by asserting a "Unitary Executive Theory" giving unlimited powers to the President, by obstructing efforts by Congress and the Courts to review and restrict Presidential actions, and by promoting and signing legislation negating the Bill of Rights and the Writ of Habeas Corpus.
  • Gross negligence in failing to assist New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina, in ignoring urgent warnings of an Al Qaeda attack prior to Sept. 11, 2001, and in increasing air pollution causing global warming.

54% of Americans want Cheney Impeached - 25 are Doing Something About It!

This may be old news to some, but to many of my readers around the world, this may be the first that they have heard of it.

Congressman Dennis Kucinich's Articles of Impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney, first introduced as H. Res. 333 in April 2007 and reintroduced as H. Res. 799 on Nov. 6, 2007 is sponsored by the following members of Congress:

Jan Schakowsky; Maxine Waters; Hank Johnson; Keith Ellison; Lynn Woolsey; Barbara Lee; Albert Wynn; William Clay; Dennis Kucinich; Yvette Clarke; Jim McDermott; Jim Moran; Bob Filner; Sam Farr; Robert Brady; Tammy Baldwin; Donald Payne; Steve Cohen; Sheila Jackson Lee; Carolyn Kilpatrick; Ed Towns; Diane Watson; Danny Davis; Raul Grijalva and Gwen Moore.

The three charges which form the basis of House Resolution 799. Articles of Impeachment against Dick Cheney are:

  • systematically deceived Congress and the citizens of the United States regarding the potential threat of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.
  • systematically deceived Congress and the citizens of the United States in fabricating links between Iraq and alQaeda which have never existed.
  • repeatedly threatened agression against Iran, in violation of the United Nations Charter, a treaty which the U.S. has signed and is thus - according to our Constitution - the supreme law of the land.

Give Kucinich points for guts. However I agree with the Democrats on this one. Kucinich has a better chance of becoming President than this resolution ever coming to fruition.

Jan.21/08 - Black Monday Meltdown - Here are the Stats.

A worldwide sell-off today sent stocks into a nose dive with a global meltdown in markets from Hong Kong to Europe. Today was the single largest one-day loss since 9/11. Here are the numbers.

  • In Japan the Nikkei Index was down 535.35 points ending at 13,325.94
  • The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong plunged 1,838.01 points (5.49%) to 23,818.86
  • The Chinese Shanghai Composite Index fell 5.1%
  • The Bombay Exchange in India lost 7.41%
  • Germany's DAX 30 tumbled 7.2%
  • France's CAC-40 was down by 6.8%
  • Britain's FTSE-100 lost 323.5 points closing at 5,578.2 representing a loss of nearly 60 million pounds in share values on the exchange.

In today's worldwide market plunge, equity investors lost hundreds of billions of dollars.

It's obvious that today's meltdown clearly demonstrates that investors are deeply concerned about the U.S. economy and its housing and credit crisis. Investors have rejected President Bush's economic stimulus plan for $145 billion worth of tax relef to encourage consumer spending, as they have also rejected Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's totally lame argument that equity strength in global markets would be sufficient to withstand a downturn in U.S. equities experienced by the bursting real estate bubble.

How naively arrogant on the part of Secretary Paulson.

It's also painfully apparent that the investors have given a thumbs-down to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's assurances that the U.S. central bank will repond with a big interest rate cut.

Fasten your seat belts! We're about to go for a ride on a rollercoaster that we shouldn't even have to be on in the first place.

A Cantankerous Moment

America is the land of opportunity if you are a businessman in China!

Where oh Where have all those Emails Gone?

These are the dates for which Emails may have gone missing from the White House. They were given to White House Counsel Fred Fielding in a letter from the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

The White House
2003: Dec. 17, Dec. 20-21
2004: Jan. 9-11, Jan. 29, Feb. 1-3, Feb. 7-8
Total: 12 missing days
Office of the Vice President
2003: Sept. 12, Oct. 1-3, Oct. 5
2004: Jan.29-31, Feb. 7-8, Feb. 15-17
2005: May 21-23
Total: 16 missing days
Council on Environmental Quality
81 missing days, including the entire period between Nov. 1, 2003 through Jan. 11, 2004.
Office of Management and Budget
59 missing days, including the entire period between Nov. 1, 2003 through Dec. 9, 2003.
U.S. Trade Representative
73 missing days, including the entire period between Feb. 11, 2004 through April 18, 2004.
The Grand Total: 241 missing days!
And to think that Richard Nixon lost his job over 6 minutes of missing tape.
Men have two reasons for doing anything - the right reason and the real reason. I wonder which of the two reasons the alleged missing Emails belong to?

When there's Blood in the Water the Sharks come to Feast

There's a new game in town, the Cash-Back Mortgage scam and it's rampant according to Nancy Hogan, the former head of the Florida Real Estate Commission. Here's how it works.

  • Willing Property Appraisers, Real-Estate Brokers and Accountants collude to draw-up fake income statements and tax returns.
  • They recruit people with good credit histories to serve as decoys or "straw-buyers" in a real estate deal.
  • The price of the property is then inflated to secure the biggest loan possible.
  • They pay the sellers the original price and then pocket the excess money as a "cash-back" on closing.
  • The decoy is paid off.
  • The property is then abandoned to foreclosure.

I guess that these folks were never made for climbing the tree of integrity!

Big Brother is Chillin' in California!

Here we go again! The government is looking to get in your face once again.

Those sun-soaked stooges in California are looking to mandate that every new heating and cooling system include a "non-removable" FM receiver.

Why? So these nutbars can remotely adjust home temperatures up or down 4 degrees whenever California's public and private utility companies deem it necessary.

The Programmable Communication Thermostat (PCT) gives the power companies complete control over home temps while denying people the right to override settings during "emergency events."

What constitutes an emergency event? Who the hell knows because nowhere in their proposal is this specified. Holy loss of a few more rights Batman!

The PCT is also capable of controlling other appliances such as electric water heaters, refrigerators, pool pumps, YOUR HOME COMPUTER ....hmmmmm, and your lights in response to signals from tweedle dumb and tweedle dee at the utility companies.

Well how's this for a signal. If this proposal ever sees the light of day, here's a few things which you might consider;

  • buy your heating and cooling systems from out-of-state. They don't have built in FM receivers.
  • set-up an inexpensive FM transmitter that will block radio reception.
  • install window air conditioning units and space heaters.

It's time for Big Brother to get out of Dodge! Yipeekaiayyyy m__________!

Right from David Rockefeller's Mouth

David Rockefeller, who was chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations (1970-1985) and the founder of the Trilateral Commission, remarks in his book Memoirs ...

...some even believe we (the Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing ny family and me as "internationalists" and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure - one world if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it."

Isn't this the same claim that many of the so-called conspiracy theorists have been making for decades?

Some Questions about the No-Fly List.

(1) According to several reports the no-fly list now contains 80,000 names. How many KNOWN terrorists are there in the world? I would venture to say that the U.S. intelligence community would have a hard time coming up with 80,000 of them.

(2) People on the list cannot find out why they are on the list. There is no recourse and no procedure for correcting mistakes. Why?

(3) Who decides whether you're put on the list? What oversight does Congress or the judiciary exercise over the list to ensure the validity of someone being placed on the list?

(4) If a KNOWN terrorist were to show up at check-in, would he/she be told that they could not fly because they were on the no-fly list ... or would they be arrested on the spot? So then, could someone please explain to me the purpose of this list.

(5) Heaven forbid, but should a terrorist detonate a car bomb on U.S. soil, would the government institute a "No-Drive" list?

Just wondering.

America: 1988 - 2008 BC

  • 1988 - President Bush
  • 1992 - President Clinton
  • 1996 - President Clinton
  • 2000 - President Bush
  • 2004 - President Bush

Will Billary Clinton make it America: 1988-2012 BC (Bush, Clinton)? Oh my!

Someone once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Wake-up America!! What is Wrong with this Picture?

Over 3 million Americans have lost manufacturing jobs since George W. Bush became President.

Corporations are using H1B visas to train foreigners in the U.S., then send them home to train others so more American jobs can be outsourced.

CISCO Systems will have 20% of its talent in India within 5 years.

Accenture will have more employees in India than in the U.S. by the end of this year.

IBM reduced its American workforce by 31,000 while increasing its Indian staff by 52,000.

CitiGroup, which already has 22,000 employees in India, plans to eliminate 26,000 jobs in the U.S. and increase its Asian workforce by another 10,000 where the paycheques are a lot less.

Free trade proponent Professor Alan Binder now acknowledges that 30-40 million American jobs could be at risk from free trade, mostly from outsourcing.

A substantial amount of lower-skilled jobs have already gone to Communist China, which is using this great increase in wealth to substantially grow its military, weapons production, the military utilization of space and cyber-war. Bless all of those bottom-line, shareholder-sucking corporate psychopaths in suits and the dunces of doom in Washington.

China is currently sitting on $1.33 trillion of foreign reserves, and if it decided to liquidate those and switch to the Euro as its reserve currency, the dollar would crash hard, sending the U.S., at the very least, into a very deep recession if not a full-blown depression

In a September 17, 2007 Associated Press article, former Federal Reserve chairman Alan Greenspan said that "it is possible that the Euro could replace the dollar as the reserve currency of choice."

When our so-called world political and coroporate leaders are stopped from screwing-up our planet and putting our lives in harms way, by the billions of citizens throughout this world having finally and collectively developed "the stones" to draw a line in the sand to say that "enough is enough", it is then that I will accept Darwin's theory of evolution.

Who will Save America?

I recently read an article by Paul Craig Roberts entitled "Who will Save America? My Epiphany" in counterpunch. What Mr. Roberts had to say resonated with me so much so that I am reprinting a brief excerpt for your consideration.

"Many patriotic readers have written to me expressing their frustration that fact and common sense cannot gain a toehold in a debate guided by hysteria and disinformation. Other readers write that 9/11 shields Bush from accountability. They challenge me to explain why three World Trade Center buildings on one day collapsed into their own footprints at free fall speed, an event outside the laws of physics except under conditions of controlled demolition. They insist that there is no stopping war and a police state as long as the government's story on 9/11 remains unchallenged.

They could be right. There are not many editors eager for writers to explore the glaring defects of the 9/11 Commission Report. One would think that if the report could stand analysis, there would not be a taboo against calling attention to the inadequacy of its explanations. We know the government lied about Iraqi WMD, but we believe the government told the truth about 9/11.

Debate is dead in America for two reasons: One is that the media concentration permitted in the 1990's has put news and opinion in the hands of a few corporate executives who do not dare risk their broadcasting licenses by getting on the wrong side of government, or their advertising revenues by becoming "controversial." The media follows a safe line and purveys only politically correct information. The other reason is that Americans today are no longer enthralled by debate. They just want to hear what they want to hear. The right-wing, left-wing, and libertarians alike preach to the faithful. Democracy cannot succeed when there is no debate.

Americans need to understand that many interests are using the "war on terror" to achieve their agendas. The Federalist Society is using the "war on terror" to achieve its agenda of concentrating power in the executive and packing the Supreme Court to this effect. The neocons are using the war to achieve their agenda of Israeli hegemony in the Middle East. Police agencies are using the war to remove constraints on their powers and to make themselves less accountable. Republicans are using the war to achieve one-party rule --theirs. The Bush administration is using the war to avoid accountability and evade constraints on executive powers. Arms industries, or what President Eisenhower called the "military-industrial complex" are using the war to fatten profits. Terrorism experts are using the war to gain visibility. Security firms are using it to gain customers. Readers can add to this list at will. The lack of debate gives carte blanche to these agendas.

One certainty prevails. Bush is committing America to a path of violence and coercion, and he is getting away with it.

Robert Otto's Bizarro World!

Just a little of this and a little of that as we say good-bye to 2007.

Hamas has a childrens website which encourages kids to follow the example of terrorist suicide bombers.

An online forum tied to the website posted a photo of a little girl in a combat vest and the headband of the terrorist Al-Qassam Brigades. The caption reads, "have you seen the new child martyr who will soon shake Israel to the core?"

Al-Aqsa TV, which is run by these same entertainment loving dudes in the Hamas Party, have a weekly children's program called "Tomorrows Pioneers."
The main character in the show is a Mickey Mouse look-alike named Farfur.
So in one of the shows the mangy mouse is beaten to death while the teen hostess explains that "Farfur was martyred while defending his land." "He died at the hands of the killers of children."
Farfur the mouse has now been replaced by Nahoul the Bee, who's main message is that "we all can be sacrificed for the sake of the homeland."
..... BEE-GONE you BONEHEADS!

Singer Cheryl Crow has an idea on one way to fight climate change. Writing on her website she says "I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting."
No s--t Cheryl?

Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills has her own thoughts on preserving the environment by cutting down on cow's milk. "There are many other kinds of milk available" says old Heather. "Why don't we try drinking rat's milk and dog's milk."
Question: how do you go about milking a rat?
Maybe we should ask the wives of some of our esteemed politicians.

When asked why she thought that some Americans could not locate the U.S. on a world map, Caitlin Upton, Miss South Carolina Teen USA had this insightful reply .......

..."I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and, oh, Iraq everywhere like, such as, and I believe that they should, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., er, should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for our children."
..What can I say...the girl would make a great presidential speech writer!

There is nothing more bizarre than war. Colman McCarthy said, "Warmaking doesn't stop warmaking. If it did our problems would have stopped millenia ago." As we say goodbye to 2007 - say hello to 2008 and a World which is at War.

Here's who's fighting as I write this blog:
